Finlay and Elisa’s East Lothian wedding photographer

As an East Lothian wedding photographer I always enjoy a local wedding. Last Saturday I walked to work across the West Beach in North Berwick – and there aren’t many commutes that compare with that! Finlay and Elisa met via North Berwick Rowing Club, got engaged at a Rowing Club event, and so the Rowing … Continue reading Finlay and Elisa’s East Lothian wedding photographer

East Lothian wedding photographer

As an East Lothian wedding photographer, it’s not often that I get a Saturday off. But today was one such day and I decided to photograph the chimneys of the local Cockenzie power station being demolished. After a bit of research using Google maps I picked my location – the old Blindwells open cast coal … Continue reading East Lothian wedding photographer

Tessa and Jay’s Glencorse House wedding photos

Despite Glencorse House being one of my favourite wedding venues, this was my first visit this year. It was also tmy first time where a wedding started late because a bomb scare delayed the wedding car! The weather stayed dry until the official photos had been taken, and by then most of the guests were … Continue reading Tessa and Jay’s Glencorse House wedding photos

Lena and Tomas’ wedding photography from Sweden

I’ve always been a travelling wedding photographer, so catching a plane to Copenhagen and a train over the bridge to Sweden was a simple journey for me to get to Lund for Lena and Tomas’ wedding.

Caroline and Stewart’s Archerfield House wedding

A small intimate wedding at Archerfield House had a very few small hitches – like the appalling July weather – but nothing dampened the smiles on both their faces, and all their guests’. The rain eventually decided it was not going to fall, and although the cold wind didn’t let up, we managed to get outside for some photos with the magnificent backdrop of the opulent Archerfield House.

A Highlands wedding

The other weekend I photographed a highlands wedding which I can’t write about, or show any photographs from! The couple asked that no photos appear anywhere on the internet, as an increasing number of my clients do nowadays. However, since my friend Peggy was visiting from Brooklyn, New York, I decided to turn the trip north … Continue reading A Highlands wedding

Lauren and Tims Oxfordshire wedding

I’ve known Lauren and her parents since I first moved to North Berwick, nearly 15 years ago. Still, it was a pleasure to be asked to photograph her wedding to Tim at Notley Abbey, a six hour drive away. The weather Gods answered our prayers in the middle of a particularly wet summer, and the … Continue reading Lauren and Tims Oxfordshire wedding

Sarah and Kilian’s St Andrews wedding

The weather is always important at a wedding – it dictates so much of the planning and logistics. I have a total of six weather apps on my iPhone…. Yet none of them predicted the weather at Sarah and Kilian’s St Andrews wedding. Sunshine for the bride’s arrival, raining immediately after the ceremony, sunshine again … Continue reading Sarah and Kilian’s St Andrews wedding

Emma and William’s Scottish Borders wedding

As you can imagine, I listen to lots of speeches. Whether it’s the Best Man, the Father of the Bride, or the Minister conducting the ceremony, I’ve usually heard most of what’s being said, in one form or another, before. But Emma and William’s Scottish Borders wedding ceremony in Jedburgh’s Old Parish Church was different. … Continue reading Emma and William’s Scottish Borders wedding

Albert and Mary’s Edinburgh Wedding

Albert and Mary travelled from Cork in Ireland to get married in Edinburgh. With just four guests, it was a small wedding – but no less joyous for that! There were just two small hiccups: Albert mysteriously forgot how to tie his tie, and the priest got the time of the wedding wrong! So Mary, … Continue reading Albert and Mary’s Edinburgh Wedding
